Yay Fable 5 is back! But the bigger signal is what Anthropic shipped alongside it: Sonnet 5 at $2 per million tokens (less than half the price of GPT 5.5). Developers moved to other models during the 18 day ban. Of course not everyone will come back just because fable is online again, but a brand new model at a fraction of the cost will bring a lot of them back.
