I recently got a call from a restaurant confirming my reservation. It was AI. I could tell pretty quickly. Once I realized, I started asking it questions to test it. It just hung up on me. Not a great experience really. So I'm genuinely excited about voice AI getting better. It only works when it feels completely human. Even 98% is off. You just feel it.
