OpenAI launches Astra for Law
For legal professionals, Astra for Law offers a specialized AI tool that integrates a massive legal database and advanced analysis capabilities, potentially improving efficiency in research and document review.
OpenAI has launched Astra for Law, an AI infrastructure platform for the legal industry. It uses the GPT-6 Astra model as its core, combined with a 230 million legal-specific search index and custom legal analysis and writing instructions. The platform allows law firms to build their own products and workflows on top of it, with a focus on industry-level privacy governance. In a Vals AI Legal Research Bench test, Astra for Law achieved a 54.0% accuracy rate on 200 legal research questions, a 40% improvement over GPT-6 Astra with only web search, and found 24% more relevant case law and 54% more relevant text from correct court opinions.
