On 2026-10-10, China's Ministry of Education held an on-site meeting in Beijing on AI-enabled teacher development and announced the launch of full-coverage AI literacy training for teachers. The National Smart Education Platform's Teacher Development Center was upgraded and launched simultaneously, opening an AI literacy zone that integrates AI learning resources, intelligent tools, and research communities to support self-directed learning and full-coverage training. The first lesson demonstrated AI applications across pre-class, in-class, and post-class stages in lesson preparation, teaching, assessment, research, and school governance. In April, the Ministry of Education and four other departments proposed including AI in teacher qualification exams and certification content, with the goal of basically forming a deep AI-education integration pattern by 2030.
