Google DeepMind SVP Koray confirmed Gemini 4 is the company's most ambitious pre-training run to date, with everything looking good so far. The team maintains a cautious optimistic approach while acknowledging current Gemini models are slightly behind the frontier. Google has shifted focus from standalone models to AI agents, with 3.6/3.7 versions learning to collaborate on programming tasks. The 3.5 Pro model remains in development but is no longer the highest priority.
