Cloudflare Quick Tunnels runs on the lightweight cloudflared daemon and skips router port configuration by using an outbound-only reverse tunnel architecture. Outside Quick Tunnels, everyday web access pushes external requests toward the router's public IP as inbound traffic, so the router must open the matching port. With Quick Tunnels the data flow reverses: cloudflared dials out first, and external traffic returns through that already-established outbound connection.
