DeepInfer Release Draws Criticism Over Heterogeneous Hardware Support
The debate centres on whether DeepInfer's reported throughput depends on a tightly controlled, homogeneous GPU fleet rather than general infrastructure design. Engineers planning large-scale inference deployments on GB200 clusters can weigh whether NVIDIA Dynamo plus 3FS achieves comparable results outside DeepSeek's own setup.
A public critique of the DeepInfer release notes that the project does not optimise for heterogeneous hardware. The critic acknowledges that DeepSeek provides 3FS as part of the stack and suggests NVIDIA Dynamo could serve for load balancing instead. The post claims that an operator with 3,000 to 4,000 GB200 GPUs could roughly match DeepSeek's reported server throughput.
One of the few objective criticisms of DeepInfer release In fairness, they do provide 3FS, they don't optimize for heterogenous anything, and perhaps Dynamo would cut it for load balancing. If you have 3-4K GB200s, you can afford to ≈match reported DeepSeek server throughput.
