Lots of companies are doing the same thing right now - cutting headcount, staying lean, and quietly expecting the remaining team to maintain the same output. How? AI tools filling the gaps - tools that, I think, aren’t quite ready.
They’re not replacing jobs one-to-one. They’re compressing teams and boosting individual productivity to compensate.
This will be the pattern for the next few years. Companies won’t say AI is the reason, but the maths only works if AI is doing more of the work. Fewer people, same expectations.
I’m quite worried about this, it's happening way too early. Companies are trying to predict a future that’s incredibly hard to predict and people are losing their livelihoods over it.
