Whatever you may think about anthropomorphic language, the most immediate “house that is on fire” is the combination of OpenAI’s lax security procedures and the complete lack of appropriate federal standards for best cybersecurity practices with multiagent systems. Banning deployment of such systems until we get our security house in order might be prudent, as well. Allie K. Miller @alliekmiller I understand the pushback on anthropomorphic language regarding the hugging face incident, and I can see that the general public has been humanizing AI long before ChatGPT (calling their Roomba “he” or “she”, saying please and thank you, talking to it as a companion, asking how it feels, etc.). But if my house was on fire, and I called the fire department and told them my house was “breathing smoke”, and they warned me not to use humanizing language, my damn house is still on fire and I need the fire put out. (Bad analogy but you get it. A fight against the language is not a fight against the key concept and takeaway.) Other than the anthropomorphic language, what other pushback do people have? 🔗 View Quoted Tweet 💬 0 🔄 0 ❤️ 0 👀 350 ⚡
