Anthropic is merging the Claude chat interface with the Cowork front-end page to reduce user confusion. The new unified interface allows users to use conversation, Cowork, and Artifacts in the same window. Claude Design, launched in April for web and prototype design, can now be called from anywhere in Claude. The company says users previously didn't know which tab to choose for a task. After the update, Claude can automatically recognize user needs and assign processing paths, eliminating the need for manual tab switching. The core idea is to eliminate confusion about which function to use, using a single front-end interface to distribute various work requests to corresponding modules. Anthropic has also added a dedicated feature for creating presentations and documents. Users can let the AI assistant create, edit, and present slides; generated presentations can be exported as PDF or PowerPoint files. Similarly, with the new Docs feature, users can collaborate on writing: add new chapter content, ask questions, and add comments to completed parts. Users can share generated documents or slides via a link and continue editing on mobile. Users can also start writing a document on a computer and check the progress on a mobile app. These new features will be rolled out in the coming weeks to paid Claude Pro and Max users for web, desktop, and mobile versions. The company plans to open them to free and team versions later. IT Home notes that before this update, Anthropic had completed an upgrade to the Cowork memory layer, which helps Claude remember user context across multi-turn conversations.
