SciResearchBench accepted to NeurIPS 2026

Why we picked it

Agent evaluation has mostly focused on coding and web tasks; a dedicated scientific-discovery benchmark signals where agent benchmarks are heading next. Labs building research or deep-search agents can use it to measure progress against a shared yardstick. Track the NeurIPS 2026 proceedings for the full paper and baseline results.

A joint paper by Renmin University of China (RUC) and BAAIBeijing introduces SciResearchBench, the first benchmark for evaluating AI agents on autonomous scientific literature discovery. The paper has been officially accepted to NeurIPS 2026. The benchmark targets complex, multi-step research tasks rather than simple retrieval. It gives researchers a standard way to compare how different agents perform on open-ended scientific discovery work.
