It's good to see big governments thinking about AI cyber security, but it's reactive, not proactive. This is just one element of AI that governments need to wake up to.
What happens to people whose jobs get automated or hollowed out? Where's the plan for retraining, job support, or some form of UBI? How do we stop AI widening inequality and digital divides? What about rebuilding the education system around AI, not just patching it? What about sovereign AI capability so we're not dependent on US tech that can be cut off?
We can't keep playing catch-up. Governments need a comprehensive AI strategy now, not after the damage is done.
