DeepSeek has released an open-source toolkit for Huawei’s Ascend accelerators, including TileLang support optimized for Ascend 950.
The tools simplify writing the compute kernels behind AI models, with the compiler handling tasks such as scheduling and synchronization. That could make Huawei hardware more practical for developers building outside Nvidia’s ecosystem.
I've said it many times before, but I'll repeat it again: many people only look at the models, when it's much more important to look at the Chinese chip industry. Currently, China is still dependent on NVIDIA chips. However, they are doing everything they can to break free from this dependence.
