Vercel Shop storefront template for Shopify reaches GA
Commerce sites built on this template expose their catalogue and carts through MCP, so agent traffic can browse and check out without a custom integration layer. Teams running headless Shopify storefronts on Next.js can adopt it as a starting point instead of wiring agent access themselves. It positions Vercel against other Hydrogen-based storefront starters by adding native agent support.
Vercel announced the general availability of Vercel Shop, a Next.js storefront template for Shopify. The template is built on Shopify's rebuilt Hydrogen SDK. It lets AI agents read product pages directly and use MCP (Model Context Protocol) for product search and cart operations. The announcement was made via Vercel's official X account.
