NVIDIA commits US$250 million to UK AI safety research
Agent safety now has dedicated compute funding at national scale, signalling that governments see agentic AI security as infrastructure rather than an afterthought. Research teams and startups building agent systems can watch the UK programme as a template for similar public-private compute deals. Its pairing with the Earthshot Prize also ties AI resources directly to climate applications.
NVIDIA announced a US$250 million commitment in computing access over five years for UK research on AI agent safety and security. The company is expanding computing power and open models for UK developers, researchers and businesses in healthcare, banking and public services. NVIDIA also joined The Earthshot Prize as a Global Alliance Founding Partner, supporting innovators working on climate and sustainability challenges. The announcement came ahead of GTC Berlin.
